  1. Just posting this because I’m feeling sentimental. Here’s some more info: Bijou (French for jewel) was originally won as a carnival prize, if you can believe it, by my mom’s coworker. They realized he needed more space and attention than they could give to him so I adopted him. We had him for five years before he succumbed to an antibacterial-resistant lung infection that we believe he picked up at the vet. Those five years I spent with him were so special to me. Since he was won at a carnival we have no clue how old he actually was, so I can’t say exactly. The couple who won him were told he was a year old but I don’t exactly trust someone dealing out live animals as complex as rabbits at carnivals. Either way, it was before his time.

But like I said previously, those five years I had him were so precious. He was my best friend at the one of the lowest points in my life. He was always happy to see me and was incredibly affectionate to those he trusted. I think he knew how much I loved him, and I like to think he liked me too.

    I love you, my jewel.

Im so happy you had the time him and he had the chance to be with loving owners.
That saddens me that bunnies r a “prize” at carnivals. It was very responsible that the prize receivers gave Bijou to a loving home.
He will forever be in your heart💜🐇

There’s always one bunny that will stick with us in life. Mine was also a Dutch girl! I swear, they are so, so special.

Thank you for sharing him with us. I still miss my first bunny, Victory, as if she only went over the bridge yesterday. It was actually early 2018. It’s amazing how deep they entwine themselves into our hearts and souls.
