Has anyone experienced rabbits who just can’t be litter trained, my Timothee is 3 and he’s not understanding (he does it around his litter tray not inside it)
Yes! My 5yr old Havana primarily uses her litter but is constantly trying (and succeeding) to mark other places around the enclosure. She also took about a year to really give in to litter.
It isn’t always feasible but we just have tried to be present with them when they’re active.
***BIGGEST HELPER the enclosure is large, for 2 rabbits with no bond, and sits on a cheap carpet (easy to replace) which sits on top of 2 layers of “heavy duty plastic sheeting” on the bottom. We use Husky brand sheeting and got our deposit back at the last apartment!****

This may sound weird but put another litter box next to your current one. Pick the spot they use the most for the new one. I noticed my girl was peeing or pooping outside the one in her cage. I now have two litter boxes, sitting side by side, one in the cage and one outside. She now has a very high success rate using either of them. That being said I had a male that didn’t give too shits where he went haha, so sometimes that’s just the way it is. GL!

Yes! My Billie turns 2 in July. She was litter trained and spayed. She knows exactly where she should go but chooses not to (she’ll even spray the walls on dome occasions, or worse, her brother Bob). I don’t have the heart not to let them free roam and have had to accept the fact that I’ll be wiping floors and picking up poops for the years to come. If anyone has any tips, tricks on how to decrease this behavior, or explanations as to why this happens with some buns, please do tell🐰💩!
