Are you positive the owners didn’t just leave the rabbit unattended temporarily in the run for exercise?
(Not that this is an appropriate run, but giving them the benefit of the doubt here.)

i’m currently on a work trip and staying in a huge mansion. i was wandering outside and saw this poor bunny in a tiny cage. everytime i’ve checked. on her i haven’t seen any food or water !! i took her out and gave her a cuddle but i’m so concerned !! even when it started pouring down with rain and i checked on her she was sitting under the little cover and was still wet 🙁 so sad 🙁 she doesn’t seem underweight so i assume they do feed her well but she must be so sad and lonely stuck there alone

oh no, poor thing! please call the nearby rescues and tell them you suspect there’s animal neglect happening. in the meantime give the bunny a bowl of water if you can. how long has the bunny been outside?
welshluigi
Have you tried knocking on the door and seeing if someone’s home? If you don’t want to be confrontational you could say you’ve noticed the rabbit is unattended and want to check that they (the owner) were ok. It might at least shame them into bringing the bun inside.
This is so sad to see and I can’t say that I wouldn’t be tempted to just take the little one if I didn’t get an answer.

I would definitely call around to animal rescues about neglect if you don’t hear from the owners soon since it’s already been a few days. Especially if the bunny was out in the rain. Seeing no food or water out there too is really disturbing as well. Poor baby 🙁

Poor little thing.
I really do hope the owners come around soon 🙏

Please if it’s been days/hours call animal control or someone. Or give a bowl of water 🙁

For how long has this bunny been left outside?

I’m sure I’ll get down voted to hell for this but like, this isn’t that bad. Y’all know rabbits live on grass, right? Like, that’s what hay is, it’s dried grass. They also get a lot of water out of fresh grass. (Do a little experiment at home and feed your bun fresh grass instead of hay for a couple days, and see how much less water they drink. It actually makes quite a difference.) So this bun has free access to unlimited grass, and is easily able to stay hydrated. Also looks like this cage is probably around 10 square feet? Which is an acceptable pen size.
It’s not great that it’s outside, especially if there’s been rain, and it’s hard to tell without touching it how stable it is, but this bun isn’t in any severe danger. Unless you consider randos coming up and taking bunny out of it’s pen without owners’ permission a danger.
We have no idea how much time bunny spends in there or what the situation is with the owners. Of you’re that worried, knock on the door and ask, but ffs don’t touch other people’s animals without permission.

UPDATE: i asked my boss if the owners were here and he said no so i explained no one was looking after the bunny. he got me some fresh veg for the bunny and straightaway she was munching it up! about 15mins later we saw a young girl by the hutch so i went up to her and it turns out it was her rabbit and they lived next door. She said she wasn’t able to get the rabbit out of the cage to move and had previous ones run away when she has tried 🙁 so i got the rabbit out for her and took her to a proper hutch they had !! the bunny is all safe now 🫶

I see multiple cage sized grazed patches behind her. It looks to me like they put her out to graze and move the cage routinely so she has fresh grass to eat. It’s probably nicer than being inside all day while they work.

Hello that is so sweet of you looking out for this bunny. ❤️ Poor thing! I had a similar experience in Cornwall and I called the Rabbit Welfare Association and they sent a care pack to the owners house and we personally left them a note (a nice one) letting them know that their bunny needs more space company etc. Thank you for flagging it up here. Keep us updated op! 😊
He looks like the rabbit i just adopted – Malibu. Except for the ears

Awwwww!!! Poor bun bun!! Go knock on the door to the house!! I would! Or I’d go home and get him a bowl of water at least! It was warm out today! My Remy got a little over heated sitting on my porch and she had water, and the ability to get in the shade, or go back in the house!! ☹️ this breaks my heart!
