My dog found some baby bunnies

I was outside by the pool and noticed my dog really interested in a patch of dirt on the lawn I went over and found some 4 baby bunnies do I leave them here??? Cooper (my dog) took one out of the hole and I placed it back not sure what else to do I don’t want them to get hurt when I mow the lawn

Yes it’s best to let them be and avoid your dog getting to them.

Don’t build any barriers around it to stop Cooper, it’ll stop the mother from coming back as well. They look like they need another 2 weeks before they’re ready but they’ll be perfectly fine on their own after that.

If they’re strong enough to leave the nest they’re good to go, don’t bother them unnecessarily when they’re out, they’re tiny and cute but they’re perfectly capable of foraging for themselves by that point.

Absolutely keep the dog away from the nest. Put up little orange flags if you need to remember where the nest is so you don’t mow over it by accident. About two weeks and they should be hopping around.

leave them, their mother is nearby but wont visit frequently to avoid predators following her. don’t let the dog near them, he will stress them out and may accidentally kill them. put something visible (plant pots, big stick, whatever) near them so you don’t mow over them (or better, don’t mow the lawn until they’re grown and gone – the grass will be a great food source for them growing up).

Leave some carrots out for the mother bunny?
