The bird was likely looking for nesting material and thought the bunny butt had some loose floof. That strategy may work on some dogs but rabbits are not having it.

For the Aussies, it’s a black-billed (American) Magpie. Thought they were exclusive to our region..

Around my end the birds aren’t as playful, I’ve had red kites circle above my bun wanting to take a few chunks out of him.
“DUDE. Just let me flop IN PEACE.”
I’d sprinkle some metallic pop tops around the area so the magpie gets distracted by shiny shite and leaves bunny alone.
I love that the bun stops caring so quickly that they go right back to flopping every time
