I just got back from a trip and lefty bunny with a pet sitter – I noticed one of his eyes is kinda wet and crusty – is this cause for concern? Any ideas what might be going on ?

followup – my pet sitter let him out of his cage and he ate a lot of umbrella plant and candy and god knows what else –

You can use an eyebrow comb/ brush to clean the area up

You should take him to the vet

Definitely go to a vet ASAP, umbrella plants are toxic to rabbits. It can cause kidney problems/kidney failure

Please take him to the vet. This is probably related to the incident with your pet sitter, but just in case it isn’t, my late bunny had something similar and it was caused by overgrown teeth pressing against his lacrimal tube (which happens quite commonly). I doubt that’s the case here but it’s worth keeping in mind if the vet can’t find a cause. Another reason could be some allergy. Maybe he was exposed to something he shouldn’t. Either way way, take him to the vet.
