I just needed to let this wonderful community know some wonderful news – my sweet girl Flopsy is recovering wonderfully!!!
I’m honestly shocked at how quickly she has recovered. For context, she’s 8 years old and had what we’re thinking was a stroke sometime late Wednesday night/Thursday morning and was taken to the vet Thursday afternoon quickly after I noticed symptoms.
She had head tilt, some serious nystagmus, little appetite, and was hiding away in her house. Her coordination has also been extremely off.
Well folks, tonight, I kid you not when I opened up her enclosure to come in and give her some loves and attention, she zoomed out like for our normal routine! What?! She even ran in a mostly straight line which is incredible, seeing as last night she could only clumsily and slowly make it to her litter box.
I am just so grateful that she’s doing better. This sweet baby only deserves the very best and I just want to pamper her for so many more years to come with treats, toys and cuddles. I know the time will come when she inevitably passes, but for a bun with so much love for life in her I couldn’t even bear the thought of her passing right now.
I want to thank everyone who offered comfort and advice to me in a very dark moment. I really appreciate that I could lean on this community and that everyone responded with such care and concern. Thank you everyone!!! π
(Btw, the picture attached is of her tonight – the head tilt seems to be almost completely gone, and the nystagmus so much less severe! I don’t know how this is possible, or if there will be lots of ups and downs, but I just feel so grateful.)
