Greetings r/rabbits!
This our baby, Tofu. He’s a happy go lucky 5 year old lionhead who I’ve helped care for for about 2 years. My partner originally adopted him on her own in 2020.
He came from the shelter with an amputated back leg (unknown cause, we don’t know a lot about his medical history pre adoption).
He’s unable to itch his ear corresponding to the side of his missing leg. 2 years ago he developed a yeast infection in that ear and was subsequently treated by the vet. He hasn’t had another infection since, however his ear is still often dry and itchy.
We clean it frequently and scratch it for him when we can tell its bothering him. Occasionally we’ll apply a drop or 2 of mineral oil with a q tip.
We are looking to see if anyone here has experience with a similar situation, and if there’s anything more we can do?
Thanks
