Posted in the rabbits sub as well, I just need some advice. This is happening again literally exactly a week after her last bout of stasis. The first time it happened was about six months ago, never had any issues before that in the four years I’ve had her. We guesstimate that she’ll be about five years old soon. I’m not sure if it’s because she’s molting right now and I’m not doing a good enough job helping her (I hand groom her several times a day), or if there’s some underlying condition the vets haven’t been able to find, but I feel so awful that I can’t do more to help my girl. I already gave her a dose of meloxicam and metoclopramide, and fed her some critical care, now I’m just waiting for it to kick in and hoping I don’t have to make another midnight trip to the emergency vet. I’m just so worried about my baby 🙁 she’s my first rabbit, and I love her to bits, and I feel like I’m failing her.
She always has unlimited hay and water, gets a few tablespoons of pellets a day, gets a little piece of fruit everyday, some greens every other day, and I’ve been giving her Oxbow digestive support this past week (added after her last bout of stasis a week ago). She’s pretty active for the most part, binkying around and digging at things. The vets have told me that her diet is good and that she’s at a healthy weight, but maybe l’m still doing something wrong, Has anyone else had this problem? l’ll do whatever I need to do to help her, or get her whatever she needs. I don’t want my poor girl to keep suffering. Desperate for some advice at the moment.
