Bunnies developed a habbit of digging out the contents of their litter box

This like the third time I check on my bunnies to find they dug out their litter and made a huge mess πŸ˜‘. It’s a pain the ass to clean, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get them to stop?

Get a separate box, fill it with ripped up newspaper, and let your rabbit dig and play in the box. It might provide an outlet for a rabbits’ digging instinct.

Maybe he doesn’t like the toilet filling

I have no advice to offer but the fact that the bunny head cutouts perfectly fit his folded back ears makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.

Got an entire page on facebook called β€˜Bunnies are arseholes’! I have had mine 10yrs and he just loves making messes.

The litter box I have is probably near twice that size, with high sides all around except at the entrance. They need a bit more room to happily scuffle around in the litterbox! It’s a happy place to do all the fun things, poop and pee and eat at the same time πŸ˜‚ This litter box looks super cute, it’s just not very practical. I have zero litterbox mess through the enclosure doing it this way, it works well.

I got a large plastic storage bin that could fit my buns’ entire litterbox/hay feeder setup inside and cut a big entrance hole so they can get in and out. This stops the stuff they dig from going places lol
