Since a few weeks my Flamish Giant, 6 years, has a leg that doesn’t always work. It’s his left leg and his other leg takes most of his weight. Since last week it got so bad that he can barely walk with his other leg as well due to the intensity of having to move his body forward. I was afraid of the thought of the limited options I would have to help him. I was really happy when the vet told me she’d gladly help him because apart from his malfunctioning leg, he is an active, happy bunny. The vet gave him Nandrolone (steriods) and a painkiller. The Nandrolone should last up to 3 weeks. I was really happy about seeing the result of the steriods. He looked a few years younger and was enjoying the fact he was able to run and jump again. Sadly, Tuesday night I saw him limp again… and it got worse as to where he was a week ago. I planned a visit to the vet. But I’d really like to know if others have had similar experiences. What can I do?
