Has anyone else ever been a foster home/forever home for a hospice rabbit? Looking for advice. He comes this week and very excited to be his love/support during his late years. I am not going to have him bond with my other rabbits because he is 9 and just needs a lot of love and I think the stress of bonding would be too much for him. He was an owner surrender that isn’t thriving in the shelter environment. They won’t be adopting him out because of age and health. So I will be his forever home as well as his hospice caretaker.
Is there anything I should/can do to make the process easier. I’ve only ever adopted rabbits in midlife so knowing he’s coming in as a senior I want to make sure he gets the absolute best care and love. Only health concerns are age/mobility/eye sight which all have been addressed and will continued to be monitored.
