Hi there! My gf has three bunnies. They are trained to use their toilets and it works most of the time. We got one of those Ikea Hol chests a few days ago, so that litter and poop and stuff is a little easier to handle. I cut an entrance, we put a hay feeder in there, stick some other food through the holes, and they love it. One of them is in there all the time, the other two not as often, but none of them avoid going in there or something. The problem is: They almost never use the toilet that’s in there. They will sit, eat, and sleep in there, but they poop right in front of the chest or into the other toilet that’s not in a chest. The chest is in the same place where their old favorite toilet was. We even put the same toilet in there. But they just don’t use it. In the last few days we had to change the litter in the other toilet several times, because they use it so much but there is only a little bit of poop in the Hol toilet.
I don’t know what to do. They obviously like the chest, but they just don’t use the toilet. We wanted to put the other toilet in a Hol chest, too. But now I’m afraid that they will just use none of the toilets and poop in front of the chests. Or do you think it would actually help if both toilets were in chests, so that there’s no “alternative”?
