My two babies Cookie and Cream have been bonded since birth. I had both of them neutered recently but sadly Cream passed away. Now Cookie is still recovering from the surgery as well as grieving over the loss of his brother. I did some research and found that it takes weeks and even months before the hormones settle down. But I’m worried about leaving Cookie by himself while I’m away at work. He’s usually very active and runs around a lot but for the past couple of days he just hides under furniture and runs away when I try to pet him. I want to get him another partner, hopefully to help him overcome the situation. But I’m not sure if this is the right time.
For anyone whose rabbit had lost a friend, any advice on what I should do? I’m also worried he won’t bond with another rabbit since he has been with his brother his whole life and they are closely knitted.
