My rabbit was neutered 3 days ago. He is finally getting better but has decided that ripping the puppy pads to shreds is a fun thing to do (I very much do not agree). I usually have wooden shavings in his litter but i don’t wanna use that nor hay as bedding for a few days to make sure the stitches heal properly. My solution was to put straw in it, hopefully it’ll keep him from ripping the pad and let him have fun with the straw instead.
The straw isn’t the softest but it’s the best thing I have at hand that isn’t dusty (unlike hay). Hopefully it doesn’t irritate his bottom too much.
