What do you put down for rabbits on laminate flooring?

So I have had my 3 rabbits for about 2.5 months and they are currently in my room. They will be moving to their own room and because it has carpet and the one loves digging/ shredding my mom has requested I put down laminate flooring (free floating just over the carpet). I will do this as I am living at home for free and she is letting them have an entire room for themselves. Will the flooring be to slippery for them? I currently have them in a dog exercise pen 8*5 with a hutch and have a blanket pinned under the sides but will not be able to do this in the room. They were definitely an unexpected arrival to the house (was asked on a Friday if I wanted to adopt them and picked them up a week later, definitely more complicated but that’s the gist) so the set up in my room was always meant to be temporary until we could get the room together and I had time after my finals to move them.

I have pictures attached of how it is now for reference. And I know that water bottles are normally not recommended for rabbits but mine were research rabbits and can not figure out the bowl.

  1. Over probley any floor id probley do 6 mil plastic then carpet remnants or an area rug then whatever i had to to make sure if there are any problem areas they can be washed easily and regularly.

Don’t move your rabbit to another room with installed carpet without covering it. Thats just silly, carpets expensive to replace and hard to clean and holds smells and I’m sure even the cleanest rabbits will make messes occasionally.

Save yourself$ throw down plastic, then a removable carpet. If it gets dirty you can take it outside and spray it or just buy new if its to far gone, or your lazy.

I used to use folded blankets to make little bunny sidewalks
