I thought I added the text.

But while I was cleaning my kitchen and throwing things out, my rabbit sneaked and got that Cookie and ate the amount on the picture.
It’s been 2h since he ate that, he’s active, he has eaten his Hay and poops seem normal so far.
    It’s almost 3am, I can’t contact the vet.
But I’m gonna stay awake for 4h more and keep an eye on him.
But any advice on this situation?
Because it’s Chocolate and I read in can be lethal for animals so I’m scared.

Get him to keep drinking water as much as possible and eating hay

  3. Get him to the vet asap chocolate is very deadly to rabbits

Is that cocoa powder or carob powder? Maybe it’s hazelnut idk I’m sorry this happened to u and Bun ❤️

Good news is that your rabbit didn’t eat the whole thing.

Most likely, your rabbit will have the runs. Still keep an eye on your rabbit and watch for any signs of decline (not eating hay, not drinking, tiny or no poops or anything you’re aware is not normal or healthy).

I’ve experienced a similar unpleasant surprise when I found some small chocolates I had left out had been visibly chewed on. They’re both still very well many months later.

Rabbits don’t have as much issues with chocolate as cats and dogs (different metabolic rates) so if they don’t have any worrying symptoms in the First few hours they’ll be fine. If in doubt (like if the bunny looks hyperactive or lethargic) call a vet and ask them for advice, giving them informations about the ingredients and the amount ingested

The good news is this is milk chocolate and mostly cookie. The vet will likely tell you to watch them make sure they are hydrated, eating, and have no other changes in behavior.

Should be okay. Dark chocolate is a much bigger problem. The darker, the bigger the potential problem.

One of my rabbits got hold of a milk chocolate Hershey’s Kiss many years ago and ate more than half of it before I got it from him. I freaked. Vets advice was to watch him. Make sure he’s eating and drinking normally and his litterbox habits haven’t changed. My rabbit was fine.

Keep an eye on him. Notice any changes, get him to a vet.

Just for reference, my bunny weighed four pounds.

Not saying at all that this is the same and that you shouldn’t worry, BUT, one time I came home and my Netherland dwarf bunny ate the entire side edge (queen size) and corner of my memory foam mattress pad because my ex forgot to put the sheets back on the bed. Probably more than his body’s worth in weight I’m assuming. My vet said to just monitor him and make sure he eats his hay and drinks water. I was so freaked out but nothing happened to him at all, he was totally normal!! Memory foam mattress pads are super toxic and the amount he ate could’ve definitely blocked his intestines and poisoned him but he was fine!

Again, I know this isn’t the same thing, however, I think the amount your bunny ate shouldn’t cause too many issues. Just monitor them and make sure they’re eating their hay and water!! 💕🐰

When I got my bun, I would freak out when this happened. And it did, 3 times. All of those times it was in a safe place and she surprised me with how much she can jump. If he isn’t showing any symptoms, he will be fine literally nothing to worry about. Get him to drink as much water as possible and to eat a lot of hay. Good luck to the small one!!

They’ll be fine. My rabbit ate foil wrapped chocolates, french fries, whiskey, silk, leather, bitter apple, she was fine. No we didn’t voluntarily let her have any of these.

Mine got into a similar chocolate biscuit-type cookie (Pepperidge Farm Geneva) and afterwards he seemed a bit subdued but nothing too bad because he drank water and steadily nibbled on hay for the rest of the evening. Next day his poops looked a bit odd. Small and dark. But its safe to assume that it was because he ate a good chunk of a chocolate biscuit and barely weighs 1 pound!😃

your rabbit SHOULD be fine, keep them drinking a LOT of water and everything, basically if your rabbit is acting strange or is having non-normal poop for over a 2-3 days i say take it to a vet, generally it should be fine because chocolate isnt like a dog eating one but it still isnt good since bunnies cant have dairy and or chemicles in chcoolate, just keep a close eye on your little one and they should be ay-okay. ALSO have them eat a lot of hay too, the faster you shove the chocolate out of their stomach the better so it doesnt affect them
