My sweet gizmo came in contact with a dog for less than a minute and suffered 6 broken ribs and hip pain. The dog did not pierce his skin thankfully but did rip out a large patch of hair. Rabbits are such fragile creatures and my heart is broken. He already has suffered hind leg weakness that the vets couldn’t figure out the cause. Luckily he is alive and now taking some meds for the pain and I’m putting him on play pen rest to restrict too much movement. Vet says he seems otherwise very healthy and hopefully should heal within 3 months. He’s eating, going potty, and moving. Lots of cuddles and love and watching him very closely, hoping for the best.
