I found out late as my dogs killed at least one. This is one day after they killed another big one in our yard. I hope that it was not the mom. In the mean time, I keep the dogs away from our backyard and put some dampen cloth and paper towel on top of the nest (the initial cover was ruined by the dogs).
I will watch them for the next few days. Worst case the mom dies or doesn’t come back, I might reach out to local wildlife rescue for help.
Am I missing something?
