rabbit chokes on everything

Hi, I’m a life long rabbit owner but this is the first time I’ve encountered this problem. On the first day i adopted my new zealand rabbit four years ago he choked on his pellets. I learned right away that he horfs down his food and chokes. I switched his food to bigger pellets. That worked for a while, and then he choked on those too, so I only hand fed and scatter fed him. Then I switched to mushing the pellets into a page with water. A year or so in he choked on this as well. THEN i switched to a diet of only hay and greens (generally dandelion greens, cilantro, or lettuce). About a year ago he choked on cilantro. And tonight he choked on carrot tops.

I am very lucky that I was able to save him each time by using the bunny heimlich maneuver. II have had to save him from choking around 8 times since I got him. I don’t know what to do at this point: he is determined to die. I’m scared of it happening when I’m not home. He always eats as fast as he can, even though he has unlimited hay. Hay is the only food I haven’t seen him choke on (so far).

Does anyone have advice? The vets I’ve talked to have all said I’m doing the right things, but he’s still managing to careen towards death on the regular.

(Bun tax pic of him resting comfortably with his wife)
