Long winded context: This Zelda and Zora. Approx3 years old. I rescued them from a neighbor who’s only care for them was pellets, water every few days and a handful of grass/weeds. They hadn’t ever touched grass, just their small wire hutch or had any bedding living outside year round.
While, I don’t necessarily have the means or time to bring more animals onto the farm, I couldn’t let these old ladies live out the rest of their lives in those conditions. I have their hutch moved into a slightly larger enclosure. (All woven wire including the floor) in the yard so they have safe grass to roam during the day and they get a variety to forage on. I plan on continuing to expand that enclosure that they will have access to during the day as they get more confident. Living on a farm and being responsible for large quantities of animals, things have to work a little different than house pets. Iykyk. And I know that what I am doing is far better than how these girls would’ve lived out there days otherwise. But I know that there are some important things that have to be missing. I would love to take them to a specialty vet and have full check ups and the whole shebang, but that’s just not feasible. So if you had to pick three of the most important things to buy/know/lookout for, what would they be?
