(Update from my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/s/sB43PzyfGv)
I want to thank everyone for being so kind and supportive on my post about Chai’s facial asymmetry. I was able to take him to his amazing primary vet today and unfortunately it seems like the entire left side of his face is paralyzed (including his eyelid). I will be taking him for a CT scan next week to hopefully try and get to the underlying cause of it, but he’s been started on antibiotic/anti-inflammatory meds as well as eye ointment in the mean time. He is still acting like the same happy and wonderful boy I have come to know and love, and I am so grateful for that.
For those of you who have dealt with this, I would love to get some insight into long-term care/outlook if the palsy ends up being permanent. Is there anything I can do to help him or make his life easier? He is truly a piece of my heart and it’s been so hard to watch him go through this.
