So I don’t have any rabbits and never had them before, but I’ve done a LOT of research and want to adopt two buns. there are 4 rescue centres under the same flag and they organise transport (in case me or my friends couldnt transport them ourselves).
Both me and my mom, whose decision is ultimately up to, prefer bigger rabbits on the 4kgs+ side. (I personally could go for a smaller bun or a big/small pair but idk about my mum)
So in the centre closest to us there are 3 big rabbits: one of them is a baby->tween, one is a slightly older female, one is young and beutiful but has e.cuniculi :((. I dont want to consciously infect one bun with another tbh, it just doesnt sit right with me.
There are some big buns in each of the 3 centres, some of them have waited for some time but i think theyre gorgeous.
-I have also read the bonding guides and wish to minimise the risk of a bad bond and having to work ‘years or months’ on their bond, simply because theyll be big buns needing much space and I just don’t think whatever big temporary enclosure would truly replace a whole room theyll have for themselves. What do you guys think about that? would it be okay to for example adopt bunny single and then try speed dating or is it actually easier to bond buns if they both are new?
-There’s also one last question: there are two mice living with me in their beutiful enclosure and theyre off-ground so theyd be entirely safe and buns wouldn’t see them, but theyll definitely hear them (when they run on their running wheel (very, very loud), or forage, both often during late night).
Should I move the mice to another room or is it okay for them to live the more or less 2 year left they have, with me? or should they have a move?
Thank you for reading my oh-so many questions! I really hope to make a thoughtful, mindful decisions when it comes to these bunnies!
Thank you for any help and answers <33
