A lot of things can go seriously wrong taking a bunny on a road trip. If he somehow escapes the car or hotel room, then what? I would strongly discourage you from this option.
The bunny will be fine in his enclosure for 3 days. Leave adequate food and water for double that period of time, in case something unforeseen happens. He will miss you, but he’ll be fine.

I took my bunny on a 14hr road trip when I moved countries, she did so well! but I know all bunnies are different. I think either option should be ok
